Can confirm, I will be running an “Intro to 2D design for laser cutting” class tomorrow night at 7PM, for all those interested please have a copy of Inkscape installed on your machine by the time the lesson starts.

Hi all,
Ryan gave an excellent presentation tonight, very interesting to learn how to drive the laser cutter.
A brief version for the absent is that you use Inkscape create an SVG file with the following properties:
- Engrave - fill colour or stroke set to black (0, 0, 0)
- Cut - any shape with stroke set to pure RED (255, 0, 0). Adjust stroke width to make visible in Inkscape but has no effect on cut width (cut always in middle).
- Score - any shape with stroke set to pure BLUE (0, 0, 255).
The laser cutter ignores any other colour.
