Seems we had a bit of a power outage possibly - the server was off this afternoon when @wil5on and I arrived which caused the network to have no DHCP or DNS. We’ve powered it back on now, so space probe emails and things should start flowing again!
If anyone comes into the space and notices there is no DHCP or DNS, feel free to turn on the server on if it’s not already on (and doesn’t have a label over it explaining it’s off for a reason)
It’s the desktop machine next to the filing cabinet upstairs.
What documentation is there of network devices, network setup and such? On Thursday night we had issues with the network (DNS failures, throughput failures, etc) which were resolved by restarting the router.
I didn’t even know where to start looking formwhat devices achieved which functions!
I’m hoping some people will feel like doing some wiki editing on Monday to bring the infrastructure section of the wiki more up to date. I think the network page is reasonably correct.
I’m wondering if there might be any utility in having QR codes on/near each piece of equipment, producing URLs linking into the MHV wiki?
At the Jetts gym in Tuggeranong, each piece of exercise equipment has a QR code on it which links to an article describing safe use of (and typical exercises done with) that piece of equipment.
Hey @ManicDee - not a bad idea at all, we just need to make sure that the wiki pages are up to date first, and make sure that people know if they change anything to update them
