Jan 05, 2015 06:30PM: Tuesday Maker Meet, SDR 27MHz R/C toys & BSides planning

This is a standard maker meet, all welcome!

Do you have anything you’d like to talk about, demonstrate or provide tutorials on for the BSides Canberra Hardware Hacking Village [1]? These are informal sessions with random passers-by just outside the main conference. They’re low-pressure, perhaps more interactive talks with smaller audiences - and should probably last no more than about 15 minutes.

One idea we’ve had is to put a HackRF to work controlling some of the digger toys we have in the space. Do you have a cool project or idea you’d like to bring along? Come discuss it!

will be there!

It was a decent turnout last night; apart from Paul.W’s Deltaprintr project, there were TWO HackRF Ones, an RTL dongle hanging off a Nexus4 running SDR Touch & an FT817 ham radio:

PLUS this amazingly cool Commodore 64 conversion project is now a USB keyboard, shown driving a smartphone:

@batau: this is Peter Fillmore’s existing work which should prove useful: GitHub - peterfillmore/GR_RCCar: Gnuradio implementation for cheap remote control cars
