The more CAD designs I do, the more I notice re-using same dimensions over and over. So about 18 months ago I started a reusable dimensions format for use in OpenSCAD, NativeCAM and direct in gcode and then more recently moved to a spreadsheet so can also use in FreeCAD.
It is still a bit clunky and I am not yet convinced, especially as FreeCAD has excellent import capability so can import datasheet style reference drawings. The idea is also like PCB footprints where everyone wants there own verified library.
Today I found the following in my feeds: Dimensions.Guide is a comprehensive reference database of dimensioned drawings…so maybe I am not completely silly after all…
