Spent a fair bit of time today spinning my wheels trying to get the Atmel tool WinCUPL working reliably.
It’s an old windows tool that Atmel/Microchip no longer support but it’s offered free and is useful for programming PAL/GAL type chips.
The mistake I’ve been making is trying to run it in Windows 7/8 x64 VM’s. It appears to be a 32 bit app and now that I’ve gone to the trouble of setting up a Win x32 VM it’s a LOT happier.
